- access_time 16:00 hours / 1.60 CEUs
Description:
This Hydrogen Sulfide (H2S) Train-the-Trainer course provides the student with critical knowledge surrounding all aspects of hydrogen sulfide and the delivery of H2S training.
This course meets the ANSI/ASSP Z390.1-2017 standard and includes modules on various applicable H2S standards, including ANSI Z490.1, OSHA, OPITO, Texas Statewide Rule 36, and H2S Alive.
After completing this course, students will have access to trainer materials, including a customizable PowerPoint Presentation, Course Outline, and Pre- & Post-tests. The required amount of time to complete the course depends on your knowledge of workplace safety, but we find that the average completion time is approximately 16 hours. You have up to six months to complete the course.
Upon successful completion of this course, the student will have the knowledge, skills, and abilities to:
- Implement adult training methodologies into H2S training
- Utilize comprehension of chemistry and toxicology to improve hazard recognition
- Understand the physical and chemical properties of H2S
- Identify various monitoring equipment uses, calibration, and testing
- Comprehend the multiple ventilation tactics, devices, and methods
- Recognize importance and application of personal protective equipment
- Apply various H2S-focused regulatory requirements to training sessions
Prerequisites:
The Hydrogen Sulfide Safety Train-the-Trainer (HST) Course is a foundational course that requires no prerequisites.
Continuing Education Units:
(1.60) CEUs are offered for this course. As an IACET Accredited Provider, NASP offers IACET CEUs for its learning events that comply with the ANSI/IACET Continuing Education and Training Standard. CEUs will be reflected on the Certificate upon successful completion of the course and passing the exam. Partial credit or adjusted CEUs will not be awarded for individuals who do not successfully meet the criteria for achievement of CEUs.
Online Exams:
The student will take a comprehensive online exam at the end of the course. You must score 80% to receive certification. You have two opportunities to pass each exam.
